First Black Eye

Not necessarily the greatest milestone to capture but it was only the result of Caleb's clumsiness (he gets that from me). This is several days after the incident happened that gave him the black eye and you can still see it. (He was running on our bed and fell off. And no, he didn't learn his lesson.)

6 months old

Beckett will be 6 months old on Friday. He has started eating oatmeal cereal and we'll probably start with a veggie this weekend. He is now a rolling machine and can no longer be left on a bed or anywhere else that is up off the ground because he will find himself on the edge very quickly. We can only assume that the first tooth cannot be far away because he drools and chews constantly. He is enamored with his big brother--Caleb gets the biggest laughs from Beckett. Caleb loves to give Beckett kisses and hugs, but he still doesn't want to share most of his toys.

I finally caught some smiles.

And a kiss.

Quotes #5

"What's that?" I think we hear this about 50 times a day.
"What's Daddy (or Mommy, Beckett, Aurora, etc) doing?" ditto
"I want to touch the sky."
"Beckett is my best buddy."

Beckett Bear

Right after Beckett was born, some family members gave us a teddy bear as a present for Beckett. Caleb immediately adopted the bear--we kept telling him "That's Beckett's bear." The name morphed to Beckett Bear over time, one of several beloved "buddies" of Caleb's. I don't think Beckett will be getting his bear back.

5 Months Old

Well a little late, but we shot some photos to commemorate the 5 month anniversary of Beckett's birth.

And Caleb at almost the same age as Beckett is now:

I find it interesting that even though Beckett is a very smiley baby I have a hard time catching his smiles with the camera. With Caleb, I barely have a picture of him from this age without him smiling. I think Caleb always hammed it up for the camera (and still does sometimes) but Beckett is much more intrigued by what I'm doing. I'm sure its an insight into their personalities.

Quotes #4

"Caleb needs to see a back hoe loader, a front end loader ... and a bulldozer."
"I'm ok." (Said after his repeated falls--he now preempts our question of if he is ok; probably his first use of "I.")
"That's a man. That's a daddy actually." (New favorite word is "actually.")
"Caleb Oatmeal" (trying to say his full name)
"Beckett Hungry" (trying to say Beckett's first and middle names)
